HB 6112 Passes the Illinois House

Actions speak louder than words! The House continues to take the path of making it more expensive to do business in this state. HB 6112 sends another message to job creators that Illinois is anti-business!

What does this bill do?
This bill amends the Prevailing Wage Act. It provides that for a laborer, worker, or mechanic engaged in the transportation of aggregate or excavated materials or the operation of equipment to haul aggregate or excavated materials to or from the site of the building or construction job, the Department of Labor shall take into consideration the applicable prevailing wage rate and the Illinois Department of Transportation's current method of establishing equipment rates for trucks on public works projects.

Republicans voting yes: Rep. Coulson (Glenview); Rep. McAuliffe (Chicago); Rep. Bill Mitchell (Forsyth); Rep. Saviano (Elmwood Park)

Democrats voting no: Rep. Boland (Moline); Rep. Turner (Chicago); Rep. Walker (Des Plaines)
